Description
Headless guy is definitely a spirit in this AU and is working for Grey who is creating an army with spirits and robots. (yay) Though the Headless guy isn’t interested in taking over the spirit world. More interested in cutting human’s heads off. XD
Other characters, the bombinomicon, monocles, balloonicorn, the Eyelander, are spirits as well. Strong ones, but bombinomicon and Eyelander had been trapped within objects for many years.
STORY TIME
Grey is using the aid of spirits to help him takeover. The war between Earth and Fire is a distraction. Perhaps he'd promise them a new home out side the spirit world and maybe has gain the aid of a powerful energy source (like Australium or something like the Spirit water). With that he could have created powerful machinery/robots/ spirit army. Grey might have learned to energy bend when digging around in Wan Shi Tong's library when Avatar Chell was alive. With the knowledge he was able to get stronger, kill Chell, and later on, kill Saxton. (Though Saxton's death was Olivia's doing.)
Though I have yet to know the outcome in The legend of Korra Season 3, I'll just imagine that for the past three avatars (Korra, Chell and Saxton) spirits and humans still have trouble getting along. Though some are friendly that decided to live on the human side there are plenty that aren't. Some want to use the humans and take what's interesting to them. These are corrupted spirits. Nice Spirits don't cross over unless there is good energy.
Demo has had a close experience with Spirits, he doesn't trust them. Sniper may have met some in the swamps or forest where he use to live and travel before he met Scout. Soldier will meet his spirit animal (raccoon deer bear?) during their journey in the spirit world. There are other possible spirits like Archimedes (moth dove) Heavy's red robin (RedRobin bird with lady bug wings), Demo's big parrot bird, and maybe Scout's spirit animal (not sure). But I believe only Soldier's raccoon will be a friendly spirit and the rest are animals. *shrug*
WELL. That's it for the idea of the spirits in this AU. It's something.
